Jose Hernandez' Merry-Achi Christmas San Antonio Concert reviews
Pretty good
José Hernandez finally took the stage after a 45-minute intermission break. She got everyone up out of their seats with the first two songs, starting off strong. Her band was good, and her voice was good too. She did a lot of songs from Jagged Little Pill, but I was under the impression that she was going to do the whole album. Everyone sat down again as she kinda slowed things down. Although she did know to close the show with "You Oughta Know", I was a little disappointed in the song selections. The performance was good, but Garbage was awesome and rocked the house. Shirley Manson was awesome and knew how to work the crowd. The band was on point, especially the drummer. They played all of their hits. Cat Power started on time, which was nice, but unfortunately, that's all I liked. It might be the worst opening act I've ever seen, I hate to trash someone. She was mumbling when she talked, and you couldn't understand anything she was singing. The music lacked any emotion and was very mundane. Maybe her studio music is better, and I wish her luck, but from what I saw, it was awful. It was nice that there was free parking, but $5 for canned water is outrageous for an outside concert where it is 90 degrees and you cannot bring any outside food and drink.
